The main Web site for Dez Skinn's publishing endeavours. Dez has been involved in publishing for 30+ years as editor, designer and publisher. His credits include Starburst, House of Hammer, Dr. Who, Warrior and Comics International. In 2004, I offered to make Dez a dummy for a revamped site, no strings attached. He liked what he saw and the rest is history. QCL went live in April 2005. |

Yes. Prices. Because most sites omit those details in the hope of luring you into contacting them first, thereby making it harder for you to back down. Basic prices are as follows:
BOG-STANDARD WEB SITE: Up to ten pages or so, moderate complexity—£300-1,000.
MID-RANGE WEB SITE: Around twenty pages or so, relatively high complexity—up to £1,500.
UBER-MONSTER WEB SITE: Negotiable.
SITE UPDATES: Usually on a monthly basis—£25 per hour.
To be fair, the above is just a rough guide. One size doesn't fit all. All aspects are negotiable on an individual basis. (Sites can also be made @ the £25/hour rate rather than a fixed/agreed charge.)
The core of the Web sites provided will usually be hand-coded, that is, not generated by a software package. This helps to ensure the code is 100% standards compliant with accessibility on different browser/OS combinations maximised. Interoperability is an overlooked but important factor.
Optional Extras: Flash animation (sample above); content management (Movable Type); shopping basket (osCommerce, Zen Cart); message board (Ikonboard, PHPBB). Also: custom graphics & illustration and sound or music can be designed/created for an additional, negotiable charge.
