I got page 77 of M Talbot’s Grandville Bete Noire colour-flatted tonight. Only 19 pages left and I have four more in hand. Some of it has been quite challenging (this particular page was pretty easy). It’s a very cool & exciting story and I’m confident that if you enjoyed the previous two books you’ll love this one.

Been listening to Sonik Kicks, new album from Paul Weller. I haven’t heard much of his solo stuff for years, so found myself wondering how long he’d sounded so much like Damon Albarn? I have a hits collection of The Jam here, which I listened to not very long ago, and he sounds a lot different to my mind. Regardless, I think it’s a really strong effort. (I like Damon anyway. Tho I’m suddenly thinking a new Blur album isn’t particularly necessary!)

If you wanna know what I’m looking forward to music-wise: the new Garbage album’s the current forerunner. Jeez, was Bleed Like Me really seven years ago?! I loved it then and still do—it got played only last week. It’s been too long, guys. The new vid/song is terrific…

A recent conversation with someone reminded me how sparse my reading is these days. I keep meaning to do something about it. There have been too many distractions & pressures, really… but it’s a relaxing pastime and, sometimes (hm, most of the time), my relaxation levels are pretty low. So, more reading. Honest.
